This handsome guy on the right is Mr. Python. Most snakes live to be approximately 60 years old, so they are a lifetime pet if taken care of properly. Most pet owners, like any pet owner, don't like to leave their snakes at home alone when they travel. That is why the Sleepypod is such a great product.

If you are a snake breeder or a snake lover, you might be able to relate to this story about another snake lover and breeder.
My neighbor breeds pythons. He had about 10-15 smaller snakes that he had sold, and only had his two breeders (which are about 3 feet long) at home.
He and his wife had planned to go out of town to show off their new baby and he wanted to take the breeders with them.
When he came home from the hospital with his wife and their new baby, one of the breeders was not in its cage. He almost had a heart attack looking for it. Not to worry, the baby was fine. But like most animals, snakes can get into and out of a great many things.

Some great features of the Sleepypod are that bedding can be placed in the inner lining and dumped out before washing. The outer shell wipes clean with a damp rag. The inner lining is completely machine washable, and will last for many years.
Traveling with snakes in colder weather like here in Minnesota is a challenge. But with the heating pad warmer it can be quite easy. The warming pad can be placed on the bottom on one side of the Sleepypod (or any cage) for the snake's comfort. It plugs into a cigarette lighter if you are in your car, or a wall socket if you are in a building that has electrical sockets. For very warm climates where your snake might overheat, pads can also be purchased to keep your snake cool.
Making sure your snake, as well as those you may visit, are safe and happy is a wonderful way to bring your pet with you no matter where you may go. Sleepypods are also approved for airline travel.

Thank you, I was more concerned about the snake. It is an expensive item even for cats and dogs, but people are actually buying these and they love them.

The Sleepypod comes with a removable inner bottom. Different bottoms can be purchased, and these bottoms are interchangable.

Dry pads can be purchased in some of the Sleepypods, which dry instantly.
Your own "bedding" can be put in the bottom of the Sleepypod for when the snake is in there. When the snake comes out of the Sleepypod, the bedding could be dumped out and the lining can be washed in a washing machine.
The whole "shell" of the unit can be washed with a cloth rag inside and out.

I only wish I had though of it. The product is made by Meowme and has been around for a number of years. It is a good product.
ReplyDeleteI know cats and dogs love them, but I wanted to make sure it was a good product for snakes. Also, how about lizards, mice, rabbits and other reptiles.
My neighbor is a real person, but the way, and he even thinks they are expensive, but he really loves to travel, and he really loves his snakes. And now he really loves his Sleepypods.
Any other information you can supply would be helpful to me. I just want to make sure my research is done well so people can feel confident in getting a Sleepypod for their reptiles.
Well I am sitting in Florida and it is nice and warm. I do miss the snow sometimes. I looked again on Amazon and it will help if you have some pictures with your neighbors snake in it for a good example. You are right, you can market the sleepypod for all sorts of animals.

I have metioned pictures to my neighbor, and he is planning on making a video and putting it on YouTube, but it might take him awhile to do it. Look for that in the future.
